In my case (www.freqcitysound.com) we use it for over heads, high hats, pianos, acoustic guitars etc. Any place were we once used a Shure SM81, this mic kicks butt. Check the shock mount that comes with the mic – its way cool! We did a show that needed about 25 overheads. I had my 10 SM81s up and borrowed a bunch of these 241s. During the show, I did a PFL to the two mics to compare. The 241 sounded better to me. It picked up more and I seemed to have a wider EQ variance. I sold all the SM81s and loaded up on the 241. This was a couple years ago and I haven’t looked back.
